Costa Update #3

Just letting you know I’m having a super time down here with some new friends I met. Costa is soooo BOSS! Francisco, Pepe, and Dicky convinced me to cancel my return flight home, so I don’t know if I’ll ever come back… hope you guys are having as fabulous of a time as I am! MIss you guys sooooo much!!

Costa Rica Update #2

What’s up everyone. It’s been a few days so I thought I’d give another update on my Costa Rica trip. The waves here have been fun, in the head high range over the last few days. We’ve had the most luck so far during the evening session at Hermosa, catching some fun bowls down toward Hotel Terraza. Looks like the swell is supposed to start bumping up tonight and continue to build into the next few days so we’re really hoping to get some barrels in the next day or two.
After returning from a morning sesh today at Bejuco, we took a drive down towards Tulin river mouth to check a couple of spots. Here’s a few pics from the drive.
Costa Rica Update #1

What’s up guys. I’m just finishing up my first full day down in Costa Rica and thought I’d post up a few pics from the backyard of where we’re staying. The waves aren’t amazing by Costa standards, but the air and the water are both ridiculously warm which is a welcome change from how it’s been back home so far this year. I don’t have any crazy stories for you guys yet, but sixers of Imperial are about a dollar and we’ll no doubt be heading into Jaco for the weekend festivities, so check back for another update soon!

Orderology 101

With all the new models out right now from …Lost Surfboards, it’s pretty tough to decide which one to get when it’s time to place your order. There’s a bunch of variables to think about when formulating those magic numbers for your new dream stick. Length, width, thickness, glassing and fin setup all combine to make each board unique and surf in a particular way.
With that in mind, we thought it would be pretty cool to show you guys what we at Catalyst order for ourselves. We also have quite a few of the local standouts come in and order boards, so look for their boards to be put up from time to time as well.
We’ll start off with some orders from Catalyst employees. The first is for a Rocket that Jeremy ordered last year and rides often, while the second is an order that Eric just placed for one of the new Sub-Scorchers.
