The Black Sheep

In our last shipment of boards to the Melbourne Beach shop, Jeremy received a custom version of a new model from …Lost, due to be released this coming January. Called “The Black Sheep”, the board is similar in dimensions to a Rocket (this particular board is exactly the same as his previous Rocket @ 5’6″ X 19″ X 2 1/8″), and is essentially a Rocket front half with a Sub-Scorcher swallow tail back half. This reduced tail width allows the board to come off the bottom and the top a bit quicker than the typical Rocket without sacrificing too much of the Rocket’s ability to glide across flat sections.

Also, note that the board is built with the newly available “TFT” (Twin Fuselage Technology). These boards have parallel stringers running about 3/4 of the length of the board and carbon wraps on the nose and the tail that reinforce the areas where the stringers end. This allows the board to have more flex in the tail while actually being stronger throughout the center. It’s a great option for those who want a board that’s stronger than an average poly board, but less expensive than the available epoxy construction options.

New Twin Fuselage Technology Is Here!

In our last shipment of boards from the crew at …Lost , we received the first of a new series of boards that were made using what Mayhem is calling “Twin Fuselage Technology”. The boards are made with traditional poly materials, but the blanks being used have parallel stringers running through about 3/4 of their length. Also, to reinforce areas that do not contain stringers (i.e. the nose and tail), carbon fiber strips are used which provide both strength and a lively, reactive feel. So far, feedback from the the …Lost team has been great, so now it’s time for you guys to give it a try. The example below is the first and only board we have received thus far, a 6’0 Scorcher. We do expect to have more on the way very soon, and as always we are taking custom orders as well.
