Don’t worry kids, MBCatalyst.com isn’t dead! It’s just more of the red-headed stepchild of the online world of Catalyst. So, to get things rolling again…
It’s looking like the National Weather Service is giving ‘ol Invest 91 a near 100% chance of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours! Based on the predicted tracks from all of the different computer models, it looks like what will most likely become Emily will be cruising right into our swell window for the weekend. Ollie’s in Hawaii
Friend of the shop and all around good guy Oliver Kurtz has been spending some time over on the North Shore this winter, and apparently has been impressing some people with his well mannered house guest tendencies. Not only did Oliver get a little pop for said manners on Surfing Mag’s website, but Transworld was impressed enough that they did a little video interview with him regarding the same topic on their respective website. Check out the two links below for the coverage.

With the holidays fast approaching, some of us might be planning surf trips where you’re going to be flying to faraway places. We all know that airfares definitely aren’t cheap these days and it’s even more expensive to take your surfboards with you.
A couple of years ago many of the major airlines started charging these ridiculous fees for your boards and the majority of those air carriers are charging surfers even more today.
Here is a list of the airline fee increases for your quivers.

Scratching the Surface NOW IN STOCK!
We just received a new shipment of surf DVD’s in the shop today, including Julian Wilson’s new flick “Scratching the Surface”. The film is insane, and of course contains all the crazy, high performance surfing that Julian has become known for over the past few years. For a taste of what the movie is like, check out the trailer below.
Also, in addition to Scratching the Surface, we received a few copy of Transworld’s new flick “High-5″ as well as a few copies of “Melali: The Drifter Sessions”. If you’re on the look out for either one of those movies, cruise by soon because they’ll be gone quick.
